I just received my IB results, What should I do next?

If you have met all the conditions of your offer, congratulations! Your college will be in touch with you. If you have not met all the conditions of your offer (for example you have not achieved the required grades) your college will make a final decisions regarding your offer once all A-level results have been confirmed in August.

Which IB Maths course do I need?

All Oxford courses that state that they require Mathematics will accept both courses at HL, apart from Chemistry, who will require applicants to have taken either of the courses at Higher Level, or the Analysis and Approaches course at SL, depending on what other subjects they are taking; please see the Chemistry course page for further information.

Can I visit Oxford University?

We have another University-wide open day on 20 September. If you cannot attend then and wish to come over the summer, you are welcome to make an independent visit. Other opportunities to attend events and find out more about studying at Oxford are listed in our events calendar.?

Do I have to book for the September open day?

There is a lot happening on our open day. Most events run on a drop-in basis but some colleges and departments run events that you need to book in advance. You can read about open days and also check our advice on planning your day.

What subjects should I take to A-level (or equivalent)?

Are my GCSEs good enough for Oxford?

GCSEs will be taken into account when we consider your application but they are just one aspect that we look at. Tutors will also consider your achieved or predicted grades at A-level (or other equivalent qualifications), your personal statement, academic reference, and any written work or written tests required for your course. If your application is shortlisted, your performance at interview will also be taken in to account. What grades do I need to make a competitive application to Oxford?

The exact subject requirements vary depending on the course you want to apply for. As a guide, you will need to achieve between AAA and A*A*A at A-level or an equivalent level qualification. Read our course pages to find out the specific requirements for each.

Can I apply for entry in 2019?
